Urgent Action Required: Upcoming VA System Updates Will Impact Processing

Dear VMAS Students,

As the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) prepares to update its systems as part of the Digital GI Bill (DGIB) initiative, there will be planned periods when VA systems will be unavailable throughout July and possibly into August 2025. These updates are essential for improving the VA's digital services, but they will temporarily limit access and processing capabilities for enrollment certifications. To ensure your fall benefits are processed in a timely manner, we strongly encourage you to submit your Enrollment Certification Request (ECR) as soon as possible. By submitting your ECR and any necessary amendments early, you give us the best chance to certify your enrollment before or between system outages. Hopefully this will allow us to complete processing and enable the VA to distribute your payments as scheduled. Timely submission of your ECR is crucial to avoid any delays in receiving your educational benefit payments. Delays in the submission of your ECR may cause delays in the initial payment of your housing allowance. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact the VMAS office.
